Your dog explores the world with their mouth, too. They constantly pick up, carry, nibble and chew their toys. That's why materials matter: Wool Bone is made entirely from natural felted wool, with no plastic, synthetic stuffing or hidden squeakers inside.

When a plastic toy is repeatedly chewed and worn down, it can release tiny fragments and microplastics that your dog may ingest without you even noticing. With a toy made from 100% wool, you simply remove that source of plastic from something your dog constantly holds between their teeth.

Of course, no toy material is intended to be swallowed. Check the toy's condition regularly and remove it if any parts become loose or could be detached and ingested by your dog.

Why will your dog love it?

Wool Bone is a toy designed around the way dogs naturally play, made to be enjoyable to pick up and easy to use together.

Felted wool is soft yet firm, offering a texture that's very different from traditional plastic toys and easy to grip with the mouth. The bone shape provides convenient ends for picking up, carrying and retrieving, while its 20 cm length makes it particularly suitable for medium and large dogs.

You can throw it for a game of fetch, use it as a reward during training or offer it as an alternative when you want to redirect your dog's attention towards something designed specifically for them.

It also has another very practical advantage indoors: it's soft and quiet. If it lands on wooden flooring or hits a piece of furniture, it won't scratch, dent or make the sharp noise of a rigid toy bouncing around the room.

Materials and Production

Each Wool Bone is handmade in Latvia using 100% natural felted wool.

The wool is felted to create a firm structure, and because the process is artisanal, each bone may have slight variations in shape and size. These aren't manufacturing defects to be eliminated: they're the result of a product made by hand, one at a time.

This is one of the reasons we chose it: an extremely simple toy made from a single natural material, rather than a combination of plastics, synthetic stuffing and components that are difficult to separate.

How to Care for Your Wool Bone

Wool requires little maintenance. There's no need to wash the toy after every use, but a dog toy will inevitably end up on the floor, exposed to paws, saliva and dust.

When a more thorough clean is needed, we recommend gentle care:

Washing: Hand wash in lukewarm water, approximately 30°C, using a small amount of mild detergent suitable for wool.

During washing: Gently move the toy through the water without rubbing vigorously, twisting or wringing it.

Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with water at a similar temperature and press gently to remove excess water.

Reshaping: After washing, gently reshape the bone with your hands while it's still damp.

Drying: Leave it to air dry completely on a flat surface, away from radiators or other direct heat sources. Avoid tumble drying.

Felted wool regains some of its firmness and structure after washing.
